Toni Rose Deanon

Grade 6 ELA-L Teacher

Growing up in different parts of the world, I developed an appreciation for all cultures. I was born in the Philippines, grew up in Saudi Arabia and Egypt, and finally moved to South Georgia when I was 8 years old. Adjusting to American ways, my teachers provided a safe environment for me to flourish. I knew then that I wanted to be a teacher, an MS English teacher, to be exact. English was my second language (after Filipino), and I grew to love teaching others the English language as well. With that being said, I love grammar, I love reading, and I love sharing my knowledge/experiences with my students. I received my B.S. in MS Education from UGA, my M.Ed in TESOL/Reading Education from Ga State University and another M.Ed in Learning, Design, and Technology from UGA. I have taught in Atlanta, Baltimore City, and DC. I've been in the classroom since 2010, and I've loved every minute of it. When I’m not geeking out about education, I am cuddling with my schnoodle LaTi, running races and lifting heavy weights, spending all of my money on travel plans, pretending I can dance, fangirling over my favorite authors, and eating lots and lots of ice cream.
