Roy Rogers

History Teacher

I am a native of the Washington DC region, growing up on the Virginia side of the Potomac, but have lived up and down the east coast of the US throughout my adult life. I attended Shepherd University, in West Virginia, before returning to Virginia to earn a Master’s Degree at George Mason University then departing for Brooklyn, NY for close to a decade. I’ve worked as a political organizer, journalist, comic and book store clerk, college professor, and high school teacher. In 2016 I moved to Philadelphia to teach at YESPhilly Accelerated High School, a program that gave folks a fresh chance to earn a high school diploma. In my free time I host a podcast about early American history. My hobbies include card and board gaming, watching bad TV with my wife, and cooing over our dog and cat.
