After serving for the past 12 years teaching and developing a soccer program for the first boarding public charter school in DC. I'm excited and very humble to join an amazing diverse community. To paraphrase Julio Cortazar, " Andábamos sin buscarnos, pero sabiendo que andábamos para encontrarnos". Joining DCI is a lifelong dream, because the mission and vision of the school aligns with my personal beliefs, and views of the world . I am passionate about reading and speaking foreign languages other than my own. I believe all children can and will learn despite their backgrounds. I have taught Spanish and Latin American studies in a classroom for students with emotional disabilities. I'm interested in seeing growth inside and outside of the classroom for my students. This year at DCI, I will teach Spanish and will be the Varsity Boys soccer coach. I'm originally from Lima, Perú and soccer is a lifestyle for me as well.
