Social Studies Teacher
I grew up in a bilingual home in the Republic of Panamá. I ended up moving to the U.S. and studying at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, where I majored in English, Comparative Literature and African Area Studies. I also have a JD from the University of Wisconsin and practiced law as a public defender in DC for a few years. I eventually came to my senses and decided to follow my true passion: teaching! I received a grant to study at American University, and earned an MAT:ESOL. I have been teaching for 19 years. My interests include traveling, cooking, film photography, Latin dancing, writing, film photography, scuba diving and spending as much time as possible with my wife and two daughters, ages 13 and 14!
