Hola. My name is Orielena López-Ayón and I am from Havana City, Cuba. I have been in the U.S. for 18 years and I have been teaching for the same amount of time. English is my third language. I have taught Spanish I II, Spanish for Spanish Speakers, IB MYP and IB DP in middle and high schools throughout the DC area. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education from the ISP Enrique José Varona in Havana City, Cuba, and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from George Washington University in Washington, DC. I believe that all children must have a challenging, diverse and fun education, design to meet their needs and dreams.
In my free time , I like to read, cook cuban dishes and vegan food, listen to all kinds of music, dance casino (cuban salsa), watch TV, exploring new places around the DC area and traveling abroad. I also enjoy spending time with my husband and my son, my mom and other family members and friends. I love the winter season, anything STAR WARS related and I am terrified of dogs.
