Mary Thomas

Librarian

I'm Mary Thomas, the School Librarian and Extended Essay Co-Coordinator. I started at DCI in the Spring of 2018. Before DCI I taught fourth and fifth grade for several years. I hold a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Dominican University and a Bachelors of Arts in French and International Studies from Saint Louis University. I am thrilled to support DCI's mission through the curation of digital and print resources, teaching of research skills, and advocacy for literacy. Matching students with books that they love and that encourage them to read is one of my passions. I am fluent in French and Spanish and hope to learn Mandarin one day! I live in Hyattsville, Maryland with my husband and German Shepherd. When I'm not at DCI I'm usually reading, cooking, playing piano and guitar, or enjoying the great outdoors.
