After spending the last two decades as an educator with DC Public Schools, I am excited to join the DCI staff as a 9th grade English teacher. I have come full circle as I began my career in education in 2001 at Cardozo Senior high school as a 9th grade English, ESL, and special educator. Since then, I have held a variety of positions that have allowed me to grow and learn professionally, including instructional coach, leadership mentor, and, most recently, was given the opportunity to lead and launch a new model of professional development for DCPS that was anchored around teacher leadership and school-based professional learning. I have a B.A. in Political Science from Kent State University an M.Ed in Secondary Education from George Washington University and am Nationally Board Certified in English Language Arts, Adolescence and Young Adulthood. In my free time, I love to travel with my family, including my husband and two children, a DCI and LAMB student, who are very proud of their bilingual identity.
