"Kellie Blair Hardt is a Washington DC native; and is an experienced educator of middle school math and science. She holds a Master’s Degree in Special Education (George Mason University) and has taught special education for nearly 20 years in Northern Virginia public schools. Driven by her desire to experience and learn from different educational environments, Kellie became a math teacher in the private education sector in 2015 and this will be her first year at DC International. She was previously a math teacher at The Lab School of Washington, and taught Math and Physical Science at Commonwealth Academy during the 2017-18 school year.
Mrs. Hardt takes pride in cultivating a classroom where students are encouraged to support each other, strengthen an appreciation for math and science, work with integrity, have fun, and to raise personal standards and persevere to reach those higher self-expectations. Kellie Blair Hardt has been recognized several times for her commitment to education. In 2012 she became the Manassas City, Virginia Teacher of the Year, in 2013 she received The Horace Mann Award For Teaching Excellence; an award only given to 5 educators from across the country per year (National Education Association), and was recognized by the Virginia Board of Education in 2014 via Resolution of Teaching Excellence. Kellie is excited to a new DCI family member where she plans to learn and grow even more as an educator; and continue to inspire students.
