Having grown up in Silver Spring, MD, and having received my BA in English from George Washington University, I am thrilled to join DCI as a resident teacher and to deepen my roots in the DMV. As a child of working-class immigrants and a first-generation college student, education has been central to my upbringing, and I’m passionate about empowering students with backgrounds similar to my own. I recently interned with the PEN/Faulkner Foundation, where I engaged with DCPS and DCPCS students—including a few at DCI!—through literary programming. I am currently pursuing my MA in Teaching through NYU, and I’m eager to learn and grow so much this year as part of this amazing community of educators and students. When not in school, I love hosting Bob Ross Paint Nights with my friends, watching movies, and baking cookies. I’m also a big fan of novels that focus on multigenerational stories—book recommendations are always welcome!
