English Language Arts Teacher
Having grown up in Silver Spring, MD, and having received my BA in English from George Washington University, I am thrilled to join DCI as a resident teacher and to deepen my roots in the DMV. As a child of working-class immigrants and a first-generation college student, education has been central to my upbringing, and I’m passionate about empowering students with backgrounds similar to my own. I recently interned with the PEN/Faulkner Foundation, where I engaged with DCPS and DCPCS students—including a few at DCI!—through literary programming. I received my MA in Teaching through NYU, and I’m eager to learn and grow so much as part of this amazing community of educators and students. When not in school, I love hosting Bob Ross Paint Nights with my friends, watching movies, and baking cookies. I’m also a big fan of novels that focus on multigenerational stories—book recommendations are always welcome!
