Emily Culp

6th Grade English Teacher, 6th Grade Level Lead

I am a sixth grade English teacher as well as grade level lead for the 6th grade ATL program. I was a 2019-2020 Modern Classrooms Project fellow and am now a Modern Classrooms Project mentor to other teachers exploring blended, self-paced learning. This is my tenth year in education, mostly in the DC area. I taught briefly in New England after receiving my degree in English and American Literatures from Middlebury College, where I also studied gender and education. When not in the classroom, I enjoy playing games, doing puzzles, eating popcorn, trying new restaurants, and attending fitness classes. I used to spend a lot of time traveling, with Croatia, New Zealand/Australia, Rio, Mexico, Hong Kong, and the Azores as recent destinations. I read all the time, and my favorite Harry Potter book is #4. Follow me on Twitter @eeculp for teaching-related updates!
