Dean of Learning/IB Middle Years Programme Coordinator
Prior to DC International Public Charter School I was a sixth-grade teacher at Washington Yu Ying Public Charter School and a pedagogy and curriculum advisor for DCI. Before this I worked at other international schools including the Washington International School, the Western Academy of Beijing, the American Community School in Egham, Surrey, UK and Sandford International School, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I have also taught at UK state schools in Devon and Cornwall, UK. I am an International Baccalaureate workshop leader, site visitor and curriculum reviewer who has presented to, led workshops for, and consulted with, schools and educators in Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas. I have taught in IB programmes since 1997 and have been a workshop leader, consultant and site visitor since 2003. I am also an Apple Distinguished Educator, a member of the ‘Class of 2008’, and have been an adjunct professor for George Mason University’s FAST TRAIN IB teacher training programme. I am extremely excited to be working with such an amazing team, in such a great community, constructing not only the school I always wanted to work at, but one that both I, and my children, Ella and Thomas, also want to go to!
