Educational AideI grew up in Grass Valley, CA, just outside of Lake Tahoe. After graduating high school I migrated to San Diego for college. I earned a BS in Chemical Education and an MS in Chemistry from UC San Diego. In addition to school, I was a rower and participated in student government. After my undergrad, I moved to Australia to coach rowing and teach Outdoor Education. Following my return I travelled around teaching ecology in rural western MA, NYC, and outside Portland, OR, plus teaching and coaching in San Diego. During the summers I worked camps in Boston and then Florence, Italy. I moved to DC after obtaining my MS (and having another stint in the woods of rural VA running wilderness adventure trips) and started at DCI shortly after arrival. Since being hired, I have taught Film, Photography, PE, and SLI, in addition to long term subbing for various classes from math to Chinese. During the summers I run rowing camps across the US and in New Zealand and Holland.
