Danielle Douglas

Health and Physical Education Teacher

I am excited to join the DCI family for the '19-'20 school year. I am from Baltimore, Maryland, and attended Howard University during my undergraduate studies. I majored in Education and minored in Human Development. During my time in undergrad I competed in Division 1 Track and Field which allowed me to attend Howard University on a full athletic scholarship. I obtained my Master's Degree in Health Education in December 2016 from Purdue Global University to further expand my skill set to better serve my students and my community. With my education studies and experience in athletics, I have been teaching full time and coaching sports for the past 6 years in Washington, DC. I have a passion for being a teacher-coach as I believe these two components allow me to meet the best of both worlds; teaching students to understand how to achieve lifelong health and wellness, how to maintain an active lifestyle, and how to use their physical skills to participate and excel in the activities they love. Aside from sports, I love photography, traveling, and all things fun!
