I was born and raised in a small rural town in Ohio. I earned my B.A. in English from Ohio University, and I am currently working on my M.Ed. at Johns Hopkins University. I am an Urban Teachers resident, meaning that I will be working alongside and observing my colleagues in the English Department in order to improve my practice throughout the year. I am excited to start my professional career as an educator at DCI, as academic rigor, cultural literacy, and student agency are shared focuses of DCI’s pedagogical philosophy and my own.
