I am very excited to be teaching at DCI this year! I am from Connecticut where I attended the University of Connecticut (UConn) for my BS in Biological Sciences and Evolutionary and Ecology Biology. After working in a research and development pharmaceutical lab outside of Boston, MA, I went back to UConn and received my MA in Science Education and Curriculum. I have been teaching science in Washington, D.C. for the past few years and recently started working with LEGO robotics, a club I hope DCI students will love!
DCI’s mission and ideals, especially the emphasis of scientific inquiry and discovery, are the reasons why I was drawn to this school. I believe if students are able to investigate, explore, and discuss science and its applications, they can become active learners and critical thinkers in charge of their own learning.
In my spare time I like to travel, walk my dog, read, and try new restaurants. In high school I only took Latin, an unspoken language, so I would love to learn to speak French here at DCI!
