Fellow

I arrived at DCI wide-eyed and bushy tailed in August of 2018 as an Urban Teachers Fellow. I spent a year teaching with a host teacher in Middle School English. This first year of teaching served as my first full year of working with a group of students and developing their academic and social skills. To say that it was challenging would be an understatement, since I also balanced being a co-teacher with working towards my first year Master's as a student at John's Hopkins University. I am excited to be fully equipped with all of the tools I need to be an effective and compassionate teacher and leader at DCI this coming year. I bring to DCI not only skills to teach Secondary English, but also my Latin American cultural background, undergraduate degree from Barnard College, Columbia University, and a love for poetry, running, and nature. I will continue to embrace the DCI community wide-eyed and bushy tailed, eager to learn and grow!
