Nicole Welsh

Director of Educational Technology and English Teacher

I am thrilled to be entering my third year working at DCI and my eighth year working in education in the Washington, DC region. This year, I will be serving as DCI’s Director of Educational Technology. I am excited to transition into this new role while still teaching sixth grade English classes and supporting other DCI teachers. My previous teaching experience is with KIPP DC and Prince George’s County Public Schools. My passions in education include pushing students to become better readers and better writers and using technology to improve student outcomes. I hold a BA in English from the George Washington University and an M. Ed. in Educational Leadership from Lehigh University. I was a 2009 Teach For America Corps Member and a 2015 Education Innovation Fellow with the CityBridge Foundation. Outside of school, I love exercising, rooting for the New York Jets, reading, and spending time with my family and friends. I am looking forward to another amazing year at DCI!
