Individuals and Societies in Spanish Teacher
My name is Nhora Boero. I was born in Colombia and my first language is Spanish. I am a second child of seven children in my family and I am a proud mother of four children and eleven grandchildren.
My passion for teaching started when I was in 10th grade thanks to my Social Studies teacher who was my model and inspiration. In 1977, I earned a degree as “MAESTRA” the equivalent to Elementary School Teacher. In 1983, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in education, with major in Social Science, from Universidad Santiago de Cali. In 1999, after teaching in the United States for several years, I earned a Masters in Bilingual Education with a focus in Curriculum and Instruction from Arizona State University.
My teaching experience started as an elementary and secondary teacher in Colombia and has continued in the US teaching students from primary, middle, and secondary public and charter schools, specifically within urban settings.
My teaching passion lies in Spanish language immersion and I believe wholeheartedly in Bilingual immersion education. I hope that my education, experience and enthusiasm for education, as well as my eagerness to see every child reach his full potential are qualities that would make me a great fit for DC International School.
I’m very passionate about everything I do, especially helping others. I’m extremely excited for the new school year and I can’t wait to meet my students every day in class ready to learn.
