Livia Matteucci

English Teacher

I am very excited to join the DCI team as a 6th grade English teacher for the 2017-2018 school year. Previously, I taught for a year at KIPP DC in 6th grade English after graduating from Georgetown University. The values of DCI are very close to my heart, since I grew up with an international upbringing. I grew up in Houston, Texas, and then moved to London, England with my family and spent my high school years there at an international school. I thoroughly enjoyed taking classes in the IB Diploma, and traveling across Europe to compete against other international schools in sports. My international experiences continued in college, when I studied abroad in Valparaíso, Chile. I’m proficient in Spanish through my 10 years of studying it and also speak Italian with my father, who immigrated from Italy. I’m looking forward to working with such a wonderful, diverse mix of students and getting involved in leading clubs and sport activities!
