Cody Long

Director of Student Life

After developing our art and theatre programs at DCI for the first two years, I am honored to lead our after school and lunch activities, as well as our international trips and community partnerships. I am passionate about providing opportunities for all students to engage in enrichment activities. After taking students to Shakespeare Theatre, Signature Theatre, the Textile Museum, National Museum of the American Indian, the Italian Embassy and the Newseum (just to name a few), I am excited about helping other teachers plan meaningful field trips and partnerships.

I graduated from Temple University with a BA in Religion, with minors in Spanish and LGBT Studies. I grew up in a Spanish immersion program and can speak first-hand to the benefits of a bilingual and multicultural education. Before becoming a teacher, I worked as an associate with Leadership Now at Lancaster Theological Seminary, leading international trips to Mexico, South Africa and Lesotho, Thailand and India.

While my Spanish remains decent, I am proud of the few phrases I’ve mastered in Chinese and French over the last two years! When not teaching, I love to cook, eat and entertain. I also enjoy sewing and seeing theatre in DC.
