My name is Carmen I. García Rodríguez and I was born in Puerto Rico. I came from a family of teachers: my grandparents, parents and most of my aunts used to be teachers in Puerto Rico. I grew up in the town of Loíza and did most of my primary studies in the town. I attended the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Education with a minor in Spanish. I first worked in the Puerto Rico Public School system as a Spanish teacher for middle school students and high school students. I then worked for five years in Centros Sor Isolina Ferré in where I was a constructivist teacher and began studies as a Montessori teacher. I now am the Spanish Teacher of Level four in DC International School. I came with the purpose to learn from the International Education Program and want to share my knowledge in Constructivist and Montessori education with my colleagues and students.
