Thank you for your interest in District of Columbia International School.

As a public charter school, DCI participates in the My School DC Common Lottery. To apply for the 2018-2019 school year, you must submit your application through the MySchoolDC’s website before February 1st for high school or March 1st for middle school. Choose DCI and your language preference (French, Chinese or Spanish) from the list of available schools. You can apply up to three times, one for each language.

Parents of incoming 6th grade students from our member schools (DC Bilingual, LAMB, Elsie Whitlow Stokes, Mundo Verde and Washington Yu Ying) must apply through MySchoolDC and choose their student’s current language path. Member School students will receive a preference to attend. However if you rank a school above DCI and receive a spot at your preferred school, you will lose your preferences to attend DCI.

The My School DC common lottery is a single, random lottery that determines placement for new students at all participating schools. Student-school matches are based on a variety of factors, including the number of spaces at each school; sibling, and other preferences; and each student’s choices.

The common application is available at MySchoolDC.org, starting in mid-December every year. For more information about the common application and common lottery, please see the MySchoolDC website.

When spaces open up during the school year, DCI will accept students from its wait list. Please submit your mid-year application here to join DCI’s waitlist.
